And so the girls are home from Las Vegas!

And both of them with colds and coughing but hey, that's a low price to pay for a weekend of awesomeness, is it not? On the drive to Vegas, there might have been cliched things like singing really really loud to certain rock songs that Dean Winchester would very much approve of. And some pop that would make him roll his eyes and refuse to talk to  you. But still.

The girls got slightly lost once in Las Vegas, but when you're on The Strip it isn't all that hard to find the right place and soon the girls parked their car and made their way towards The Excalibur.

As you can see there is a bright blue sky, no clouds in sight and in fact Annie almost had doubts that clouds even existed in this vast country. But that is beside the point.

You can not go to Las Vegas without gambling, but since neither Brie or Annie are the gambling kind, they settled for slot machines. And they actually found their absolute favorite slot machine but they were stupid and forgot to take a picture of it.  Ah well. Slot machine playing leads to free drinks, which is always a good thing!

Walking around the girls managed to visit several casinos, some for playing and some for just staring at the insanity that is Las Vegas. Because really, the Statue of Liberty made from M&M's? An in-door Venice? Pyramids and Sphinxes? Las Vegas is a crazy town and that is what makes it so very amazing!

After everyone from family, to friends, to the waitress at the fancy Steakhouse on Friday night asked about what show the girls were going to see, they finally decided to buy tickets for the Excalibur's dinner and a show, The Tournament of Kings. What followed was an hour and a half of jousting, sword fighting, half naked men and women and a full three course meal you had to eat with your hands!

Obviously this was awesome. How could eating an entire bird with nothing but your hands be anything but awesome?

The girls ended the evening getting the maximum out of their Monorail pass and so they ventured down The Strip and landed themselves with free entrance to a flair bartender club and later on with huge drinks from Fat Tuesdays. And when we say huge, we mean huge!

~*~

And so, here we are, on the last night of the big adventure. Do we want it to end? Of course we don't, we have very much enjoyed making the world tremble at our feet! And making dorky jokes. Because that is just the way we roll.

How can we even begin to sum up the last two weeks? We can't. And we don't want to. Some things will stay ours and ours alone (what happens in Vegas and all that...) but we end this post here, with hopes that some day we will have need to re-visit this blog for more adventures!

Much love

Brie and Annie

Tuesday the 12th was Brie's birthday and the girls celebrated by going out to breakfast then spending a nice afternoon at home relaxing. Annie was very thoughtful and brought Brie a pretty new necklace that fits perfectly in Brie's collection!

Brie was also quite lucky to get several lovely new clothes items from her Mom but she wasn't letting Annie snap any pictures of those! Instead Annie captured this playful little moment between Brie's older brother Brock and her son Liam.

Annie and Brie then decided that Wednesday should be spent packing, so the packed themselves into the car and made the drive to Phoenix, venturing down from the mountains and into the sweltering heat that is the sprawling city of Phoenix. Brie might have laughed a little at Annie's reaction to the warmth, but only in a friendly way of course.

Brie continued to be highly amused by the amount of money Annie managed to spend and clothes, tea and a very cute bear at Build-A-Bear because obviously this is the place for two grown up girls to go. Annie got to choose a pretty bear (the gayest little rainbow bear), a sound to put in his paw and then kiss the heart before it was placed inside. Obviously this was the highlight of the day.

After a day like that, both girls are resting up in order to survive a weekend of Vegas fun. In other words, we wont update more until Monday. And well..you know... what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

After the grand adventures of Friday, Annie and Brie decided to have a fairly easy going weekend. On Saturday a friend from Phoenix drove up and the afternoon was spent enjoying the lovely weather at a park. Saturday evening, however, Annie and Brie ventured out to see Prometheus, something they both had been looking forward to. Here is where we would like to say that it was a good movie, that it was all we had expected it to be. But we wont. Because it...had plot holes the size of Australia and acting that made school plays look worthy of an Oscar. We will not spoil beyond saying that Ridley Scott owes us for wasted money and wasted time.

We could rant about that for a while but that would be even more time wasted so... Sunday was full of grocery shopping, carrot cake making, and game playing. Annie was taught how to play the game of Life and Brie's brother beat them all by making over two million dollars! Go figure!

Monday was a day of local sight seeing, if you can count the Prescott mall as something worth traveling too. Though Brie and Annie and even Liam enjoyed a delicious lunch at Red Lobster!

Now it's time to relax for the evening and get excited for Brie's birthday tomorrow. We will leave you with the most awesome pictures from Bearizona where a wolf came within inches of the passenger door. This is a place we'd suggest everyone go to, the automated tour guide was hilarious, the animals were awesome, and the park was beautiful!

Brie spotted this sign outside the gift shop and couldn't help snagging Annie's camera for a picture!

This little wolf couldn't care less about us even though we were mere feet away.

White bison, ignoring us like so many animals did.

Look, Bearizona has bears!

This gorgeous bird posed for us.

Annie loved this fat, happy little goat.

Sleeping lynx, resting in the shadow.

Bear cubs sleeping on top of each other, cuddling for the win!

Sleeping, in the most adorable way.

After a lazy day, catching up on The Glee Project and things like that, Brie and Annie decided to go on a little road trip. So packing themselves up in the car with a bag of snacks, they headed out to Starbucks! Because what better way to start a road trip than coffee and petite vanilla scones?

With Maroon 5 playing, coffees in hand and the sun shining, these two girls set their sights on Grand Canyon, because obviously this is something that needs to be seen. It might have been a two hour drive, but Annie was not likely to be bored because the Arizona landscape is quite a bit different from the Swedish one.

Brie managed not to get lost, which is very impressive, and the girls arrived nice and early at the Grand Canyon to enjoy the warm day before it turned stifling. They trekked up the path, following the growing crowds of fellow tourists, until they reached the canyon rim. That very first eyeful of the massive expanse had both girl sucking in a surprised breath.

Pictures might be awesome, and quite a few was taken, but nothing can prepare you for the moment when you first see it, and Annie was quite awed to just stare and stare. And take pictures. With a gnome, because obviously for some people it makes sense to bring a garden gnome to Grand Canyon. People are awesome!

And after the visit to Grand Canyon came the much needed shopping so Annie now has a bag of assorted gifties for once she comes back to a rainy Sweden. After that came the oh so very important mission: food! Driving back to Williams the girls went looking for a place to eat and they sure did find a perfect place!

How could people pass this place? Well we could not and we are very happy that we didn't, because after some huge sodas and even huger hamburgers, we set out for the second part of the days adventures!

And that we will talk about later, because we need to start this day and soon we're meeting up with a friend for some time in the sun!

It's a bright and sunny day in Arizona, USA. And funny enough, Annie is not dead on her feet. But that might have something to do with a second trip to Starbucks, as well as the fact that we both crashed into bed pretty soon after we got home. Apparently 24ish hours of travel takes its toll, who'd have thought?

After the important purchase of caffeine, we took Liam to the park for some playtime and considering what was left behind in Sweden, I must say that this was an improvement!

After making Liam all played out, Brie had much fun taking Annie to Wal-Mart where the wide eyed Swede kept going "oh, we do not have that" every two steps. From the ten different flavors of M&Ms to the two different isles of frozen masterpieces, Brie enjoyed watching Annie's constant amusement and wonder.

Alas, Brie didn't want to overwhelm her little Swedish friend too much on the first day, so after gathering some roadtrip snacks for the upcoming Grand Canyon adventure, it was off to grab a quick lunch at Subway and venture back home. Of course, Brie forgot to mention the sheer number of choices when it comes to Subway (between the bread, meat, cheese, toppings, sauce) so the "quick" lunch wasn't really all that quick.

And now we're home, so it's time for a nice afternoon of girl chat before Brie gets to scare Annie by presenting her to more family. And KFC.

Annie

I'm right now high above USA. With less than two hours to go until I'm done with this travelling thing. Slightly tired, and kinda giddy with excitement!

So far so good, Arlanda to Heathrow was no problem at all, but once on the plane in Heathrow (and dearie me that place is huge) they say that we have a 1,5h delay. I promptly freak out just a bit but in the end, we were in fact delayed...and yet made it there twenty minutes earlier than we were supposed to. Part of me does not want to know how fast we went.
I guess it's lucky we did make such good time though once more because security in Dallas took for ever. Really. They had two desks open and once more I was about to freak out. Nerves aside, here I am, safe and sound on the plane and such a short time away from seeing Brie.

I doubt I'll write another update today, I will to busy making high pitched squeey noises once I meet Brie. Tomorrow though, tomorrow the real adventures begin!

Who we are

I'm Annie, 29 (dear God, I don't wanna turn 30!) years old and from Sweden and come June 5th I will be getting on an airplane to travel halfway across the world. To say that I'm nervous would be an understatement but...hey, that's why we call this an adventure!

And I am Brie, I will be 25 on the 12th (one week after Annie shows up!) Obviously I'm the crazy little American that's somehow convinced Annie to fly halfway across the world to come visit her in a dry and hot little place called Arizona!

Why we are

It all started when two young men accepted the roles of Sam and Dean Winchester on this little show-that-can, Supernatural. Maybe you've heard of it? If that hadn't happened, Annie and Brie would never have found each other and the world would be a much more depressing place indeed.

Now look at these boys, how could two girls not bond over them?

Roughly a year and a half ago Annie and Brie began to chat via Skype and once Brie got over the novelty of Annie's Swedish accent, their friendship grew. Until the fateful day Brie made a casual joke about Annie coming to visit America where she promised to show Annie the Grand Canyon and Vegas and all of America's special drive thrus! Little did Brie know that visiting America had always been Annie's dream and thus it didn't take long for plans to be made and the long countdown to begin.

And here we are. Here is our adventure.
